Flu shots do not give one hundred percent protection. So whether you get a flu shot or not, you need to protect yourself. The best way to keep from getting the flu is to boost your immune system.
There are a couple of ways to go about that.
AHCC a form of
mushroom extract has been shown to increase your immunity. AHCC
increases your natural killer cells which are part of your immune
system. These killer cells are your first defense against the flu.
Recently
there have been many studies about the immune enhancing effects of
vitamin D3. Researchers describe vitamin D3 as a potent immune system
modulator. Take supplemental vitamin D3 especially during the winter
months.
What can you do if you get the flu or feel like you have
been exposed to it? Use a neti pot. Add one half a teaspoon of salt to
a cup of water put it in a neti pot and wash out your nasal passages. The salt water will keep the flu viruses from
collecting in your nose and replicating. Directions for use come with
the neti pot.
Silver
hydrosol, a form of colloidal silver is an antiviral, antibacterial
substance. It can be used to kill the flu viruses. Follow the
directions on the bottle.
Oil of oregano is a powerful
antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal compound. Take a few drops
mixed in liquid. Just a warning, it taste awful. You can also gargle
with it. Anytime I feel that I have been exposed to anything I take it.
Olive
leaf extract has strong antibacterial and antiviral properties. Studies
have shown that olive leaf extract can keep viruses from getting a
foothold in your body. It prevents a virus from infecting cells and
also keeps them from reproducing. Take it at the first sign of the flu.
Check
with your health professional before taking any supplements. Follow the
directions on the bottle. If you think you have the swine flu consult
your medical professional.
The best defense is to not get the
flu in the first place. And with the proper supplementation you can
