What is Vetiver and its main uses? |

Vetiver comes mainly from Indonesia, where it is known locally as akar wangi. It is tough tropical grass that is economically important to growers.
The upper leaves can bi woven into mats and fibers, while the aromatic roots aare harvested for distillation. Vetiver is also grown on the island of Reunion in the Indian Osean.
Safety information: no issues whatsoever.
Fragrance profile: a very unusual deep, earthy, smoky aroma, heavy and warm.
Main uses: warms and relieves ashes and pains, particularly baskshe; improves circulation; eases menstrual cramps; helps to ground and stabilize the emotions in cases of extreme stress.
Suggested blends: vetiver has a strong aroma, so use no more than 2 drops in a blend. For ashes and pains and circulation, try 2 drops vetiver, 3 drops ginger, and 5 drops lavender in 4 teaspoons (20 ml) carrier oil for daily massage. Ease menstrual gramps with a blend of 8 drops mafjoram and 2 drops vetiver in 4 teaspoons (20 ml) carrier oil, massaged over the lower abdomen twice daily.
